Convenience stores in Japan can be found all over town, and they're open 24/7, making them really convenient. There are not only rice balls and bento boxes, but you can also buy household items, pay for utility bills, and even send courier services. In Japan, where natural disasters are common, convenience stores are now a lifeline. When I am in Japan, I go there even though I have nothing to buy. A long time ago, there was a 7-Eleven near Leicester Square. I went in, but I remember being disappointed because it was completely different from the ones in Japan.
